Job summary

PeopleCert in Istanbul is seeking a qualified Greek Language Teacher to support an ESG initiative aimed at raising Greek language proficiency for students of Greek origin in Istanbul. You will plan and deliver interactive lessons for young learners and teens while preparing them for internationally recognized Greek language certifications.

The role requires a BA in a related field, native Greek speakers, and at least 2 years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• BA degree in Greek Literature, Philology, Linguistics, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with young learners.
• Eligibility to live and work in Turkey is required.
• Availability to work physically in Beyoğlu, Istanbul from 2 PM to 8 PM (Mon–Fri).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive, engaging lessons for various ages and proficiency levels.
• Design activities and materials that promote communicative language use.
• Assess student needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Monitor, evaluate and document progress through regular assessments and feedback sessions.
• Prepare students for international Greek language certification exams and practice tests.
• Maintain records of attendance and development.
• Provide constructive feedback and communicate with learners and parents.
• Collaborate with PEOPLECERT colleagues to fine-tune curriculum materials.

PeopleCert is seeking an experienced, passionate, and qualified Greek Language Teacher to join our team in Istanbul. This is a unique opportunity to support a transformative educational initiative as part of PeopleCert’s ESG commitment to strengthening access and quality in education.

You will support a newly established ESG initiative aimed at raising Greek language proficiency for students of Greek origin in Istanbul, planning and delivering interactive lessons for young learners to teenagers and preparing them for internationally recognized Greek language certifications. This role requires adaptability, creativity, and a genuine desire to help learners achieve their language goals.

As a Greek Teacher, your tasks will include the following:

• Plan and deliver interactive, engaging lessons for a variety of age groups and proficiency levels
• Design activities and work with materials that promote communicative and authentic language use
• Assess student needs and learning styles to tailor instruction accordingly
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress through regular assessments, quizzes, and feedback sessions
• Prepare students for international Greek language certification exams, including practice tests and exam strategies
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and development
• Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain regular communication with learners and parents
• Collaborate with colleagues from PEOPLECERT to fine-tune curriculum materials and share best practices
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events

What we look for:

• A BA degree in Greek Literature, Philology, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in classes for young learners
• Native Greek speaker
• Familiarity with the CEFR framework and standardized test preparation
• Eligibility to live and work in Turkey is required
• Availability to work physically in Taksim, in the Beyoğlu district, from 2 PM to 8 PM (Monday to Friday)
