Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer to independently determine maintenance tasks, plan service visits, and coordinate with customers worldwide. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and implement hardware/software fixes on customer sites.

Role involves international travel, close collaboration with service teams, and providing training and upgrades guidance to customers. A proactive, customer-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service or similar customer-facing role.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and service bulletins.
• Experience coordinating with international customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Discuss and resolve malfunctions with customers by phone.
• Review drawings, specs and background information.
• Plan work approach and schedule with the customer.
• Prepare tools, components, software and manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance and replace parts as per instructions.
• Identify causes of malfunctions and fix hardware or software.
• Analyze logs to optimize uptime and yield.
• Repair components or systems returned by customers.
• Work domestically and internationally.
• Advise on upgrades and spare parts usage.
• Provide maintenance training at customer sites.
• Feed back commercial and technical improvement opportunities.
