Job summary

lookfor is building the frontier of customer experience for eCommerce brands in Istanbul. This role sits in-person with brands to design operating models, ship automation, and measure revenue outcomes.

You will embed with brands, map how they operate, and turn that into working agents, tools, workflows, and integrations across Shopify and related systems. You will own go-live and continuously raise automation and revenue while collaborating with founders and engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with production-quality TypeScript.
• Experience with APIs, webhooks, and integrations across systems.
• Excellent English communication with global brands.

Responsibilities

• Embed with high-growth Shopify and CPG brands and map how they sell, support, fulfill, and retain customers.
• Design agents, procedures, tools, and workflows that match how the business actually operates, not how a demo looks.
• Build custom API tools, MCP connections, and integrations across the merchant stack: Shopify, subscriptions, returns, loyalty, shipping, reviews, and the systems nobody else wants to touch.
• Configure knowledge bases, graders, tests, and traces so quality is measurable, not assumed.
• Take brands from first install to live automation across storefront, email, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Own go-live, then keep raising automation rate, resolution quality, and revenue from inbound and outbound.
• Debug production issues at the intersection of models, tools, data, and operations - and fix them yourself.
• Work directly with founders and product engineering to turn field reality into platform capability.
• Write the playbooks that the next deployment can reuse, then throw them out when a better pattern appears.

This is not a support tool with an AI feature. This is the operating layer that replaces fragmented customer experience stacks for brands doing eight and nine figures in revenue.

Your Mission

As our Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the person who makes lookfor real inside the brands that matter.

You will sit with eCommerce operators, understand how their business actually runs, and turn that into working agents, tools, workflows, and integrations. You will not throw a product over the wall and hope. You will design the operating model with the customer, ship it, measure it, and keep tightening it until conversations convert into resolved work and revenue, earned trust, and deep knowledge of how the business actually runs.

• Become the trusted technical counterpart of CX, ops, and growth leads at eight- and nine-figure brands

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering fundamentals. You can read a codebase, write production-quality TypeScript, and ship without waiting for a spec
• Comfort across APIs, webhooks, auth, data models, and messy third-party systems
• Real curiosity about eCommerce: catalog, orders, subscriptions, returns, CX, and how those pieces make money
• Ability to sit with a non-technical operator, extract how their business works, and turn it into a precise system
• Judgment under ambiguity. You decide, ship, measure, and correct
• Excellent English. You will write, present, and work with global brands
• Ownership mindset. You generate the plan instead of waiting for a brief
• Preference for being in the room with customers and with the team, not behind a ticket queue
• Outsiders welcome: people who bring their own way of seeing a business and will not copy a playbook that does not fit
• Bonus if you have shipped AI agents, LLM tools, Shopify apps, or integrations in production - proof of work beats titles

Compensation

$3,500 - $4,500 net per month, plus stock options. We pay for ownership, not for showing up.
