Job summary

Eren Enerji is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Executive to lead our environmental strategy at a coal-fired plant in Çatalağzı, Zonguldak. You will oversee permits, inspections, and carbon management while steering waste, water and emissions programs.

You will manage a team, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure ISO 14001 and ESG reporting requirements are met, driving continual improvement and energy efficiency projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in industrial facilities, preferably manufacturing.
• Experience with permits, licenses, reporting and compliance.
• Knowledge of GRI, CDP, SBTi, ESG reporting standards.
• Environmental Officer Certificate; Environmental Management Service Competency Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the company's environmental and sustainability strategies.

Job description

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline,
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial facilities, preferably within manufacturing environments,
• Experience in managing environmental permits and licenses, as well as regulatory reporting and compliance processes,
• Knowledge of sustainability practices, carbon management, energy efficiency, and sustainability reporting standards (GRI, CDP, SBTi, ESG, etc.),
• Holder of an Environmental Officer Certificate; Environmental Management Service Competency Certificate is preferred,
• Proven knowledge of environmental legislation, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes, waste management, water and wastewater management, and emission and noise measurement practices,
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements and applications,
• Good command of written and spoken English,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with digital sustainability and reporting tools is preferred,
• Strong leadership, team management, analytical thinking, communication, and coordination skills,
• No travel restrictions and willing to work in field operations.

Job Description

• Ensure the wastewater treatment plant and environmental operations comply with applicable legislation,
• Develop and manage carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainability projects,
• Coordinate sustainability reporting processes in accordance with GRI, CDP, SBTi, and ESG standards,
• Ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, including internal audits,
• Lead the environmental team, organize environmental awareness training for employees, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Eren Energy Electricity Generation Inc. is a coal-fired thermal power plant with a total installed capacity of 2790 MW/Hour in Çatalağzı town of Zonguldak. It consists of three facilities: ZETES-1 with a capacity of 160 MW/Hour, ZETES-2 with a capacity of 2x615 MW/Hour and ZETES-3 with a capacity of 2x700 MW/Hour. In addition, Eren Energy has a port with a capacity of 15 million tons to meet the coal needs of the plant.
