Wide and Wise seeks a hardware-focused firmware engineer to architect, implement, and maintain production-ready firmware for ESP32/ESP8266 and to design PCBs and 3D enclosures from concept to small-scale production.
You will travel occasionally for field audits, train technicians, audit deployments, and verify hardware data integrity while building visual dashboards to monitor sensor telemetry across hardware, networking, and cloud IoT systems.
Architect, write, and maintain production-ready firmware using C/C++ on ESP32 / ESP8266 platforms.
Design schematics/PCBs (KiCad, Altium, or equivalent) and 3D enclosures/mounts (Fusion 360, SolidWorks) from concept to small-scale production.
Manage BLE (advertising, GATT, gateways), MQTT, and cloud IoT communication pipelines.
Create SOPs and acceptance criteria for third-party installation teams. You won't do manual installations daily, but you will train technicians, audit field deployments, and verify hardware data integrity.
Build internal test tools and diagnostic dashboards (e.g., using Python/Streamlit/REST APIs) to visualize sensor telemetry and troubleshoot devices.
Diagnose complex issues across the full hardware-network-cloud boundary.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering.
2–4 years of professional experience in embedded systems and IoT.
You've brought at least one hardware/firmware project to life that is actively deployed in the real world (beyond academic or hobby projects).
Comfortable bridging the gap between hardware engineering and real-world field deployment. Willingness to travel occasionally for field audits and critical troubleshooting. Valid Driver's License (Class B).
Professional working proficiency in English (technical documentation & international communication).
Experience withRTLS / Positioning(BLE RSSI, UWB) orLoRa / LoRaWAN.
BasicAWS IoTinfrastructure knowledge (IoT Core, Lambda, SSM).
Experience with low-power battery optimization and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.
Ability to quickly build visualization/diagnostic dashboards using Python (Streamlit, Dash) or lightweight web stacks.
High Impact & Ownership:You will be the primary hardware lead drivingR&Dand IoT developments for a high-growth PropTech startup.
Global Ecosystem:Direct exposure to international projects across Turkey, the Middle East (Dubai), and the Nordics (Finland).
Competitive Compensation:Competitive USD-indexed/equivalent net salary package with project milestone performance bonuses.
Work Model:Hybrid flexibility, meal/transportation support, and fully covered travel allowances for field visits.
