About the Role

We are seeking a senior technology executive to take over the role of Director of Technology, reporting directly to the Board.

This role represents the highest authority for all enterprise technology domains. It is a pure technology leadership mandate with full accountability for architecture, engineering execution, platform enablement, infrastructure stability, data platforms and security governance. This role ensures that the entire technology backbone of the company is scalable, secure, modern and execution-ready.

AI plays a central role in Client’s strategic ambition. The Director of Technology is expected to actively leverage Artificial Intelligence to increase productivity, automation, quality and resilience across engineering and enterprise technology.

The role is responsible for technical coherence, architectural consistency and operational excellence across all these domains, while systematically identifying and scaling high-impact AI use cases.

The Director of Technology owns the entire technical backbone of the organization and plays a key role in enabling AI-driven productivity and automation where it creates measurable value. This role ensures that engineering, platforms, infrastructure, data and security operate as one coherent, scalable and future-ready ecosystem. The Director of Technology is critical for ensuring long-term technological competitiveness, cyber resilience and sustainable efficiency gains through modern technology and selective, high-impact use of Artificial Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Technology Strategy

• Define and execute the enterprise-wide technology strategy aligned with business priorities
• Ensure architectural coherence across engineering, platform, infrastructure and data
• Establish long-term scalability, resilience and modernization roadmaps
• Drive cloud strategy and enterprise platform evolution
• Identify and prioritize high-impact AI initiatives that create measurable productivity and efficiency gains

Engineering Excellence & Productivity

• Personally assume the role of Head of Engineering
• Lead all Software Engineering and QA functions
• Drive adoption of modern development tools, including AI-supported coding, automated test generation and intelligent quality engineering where beneficial
• Increase developer and QA productivity through AI-driven automation and optimized DevOps workflows
• Establish AI-assisted QA practices such as automated test case generation, regression suite optimization and defect prediction
• Define and monitor engineering KPIs aligned with DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, mean time to recovery) as well as reliability and quality indicators
• Quantify and track productivity and quality improvements resulting from AI-supported engineering and testing practices
• Oversee enterprise architecture and technical guardrails
• Ensure platform services enable efficient, scalable and AI-ready product delivery
• Integrate AI capabilities into development platforms and internal tooling
• Align DevOps platforms, integration platforms and QA tooling
• Act as final escalation authority for major architectural decisions
• Establish governance forums for cross-domain architecture alignment
• Ensure stable, secure and cost-efficient infrastructure operations
• Govern cloud, hosting, network and workplace environments
• Increase automation levels across infrastructure and IT services
• Align infrastructure capabilities with engineering and business requirements

Data & AI Governance

• Ensure enterprise-grade data platform capabilities as foundation for analytics and AI
• Enable scalable, secure and compliant data architectures
• Facilitate advanced analytics and selected AI use cases across engineering, security and operations
• Establish clear governance for responsible and compliant use of AI

Security Leadership & Cyber Resilience

• Own enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy and governance
• Strengthen detection and response capabilities, including the use of intelligent monitoring solutions
• Establish security architecture standards and risk management frameworks
• Ensure secure-by-design principles across all domains
• Provide transparency on cyber risk posture and mitigation measures to the Board

Board-Level Technology Advisory

• Act as primary technology advisor to the Board
• Translate technical risks and opportunities into strategic decisions
• Provide transparency on system stability, cyber resilience and technology-driven productivity impact
• Support board-level investment and transformation decisions with clear business value cases

It is to begin supporting adesso’s international delivery network (www.adesso-smartshore.com) in staffing and logistical terms effective immediately.

The IT experts work on digitalization projects as part of international project teams.
