Job summary

UNICEF Careers seeks a Deputy Representative for Programmes to lead the country office’s programme planning, development and delivery in line with UNICEF standards. The role requires strong strategic oversight, partnership building, and risk-aware management in fragile contexts.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with public and private partners, and ensure ethical, high-impact humanitarian and development programming.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, government and public policy or related field.
• At least ten years of development experience with technical and managerial leadership in development cooperation, preferably in international settings.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead CO programme planning and development.
• Advise the Representative on overall CO management and strategy.
• Monitor and ensure quality of programmes.
• Represent UNICEF in alliances and UN System coordination.
• Engage private sector and partnerships to advance results.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.
• Oversee security of personnel, programmes and assets.
