Job summary

Human Appeal is seeking an Emergency Response & Preparedness Manager to lead readiness, contingency planning, and surge coordination across programmes. The role focuses on building organisational readiness and guiding rapid, well-coordinated humanitarian actions during crises.

The post holder will work across departments with field offices and partners to ensure safeguarding, gender-inclusive practices, and donor compliance while maintaining an adaptive response posture for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with humanitarian work experience preferred.
• 8+ years in humanitarian emergency response or preparedness planning.
• Strong coordination and information management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead emergency preparedness and contingency planning across the organisation.
• Coordinate readiness assessments with field offices, partners, and stakeholders.
• Support active emergency responses and surge deployments as required.
• Represent the function in inter-agency forums and coordination structures.
• Ensure safeguarding, protection mainstreaming, and do-no-harm principles are embedded.
