Job summary

MetLif is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Data Governance Team. You will transform data into actionable insights, develop AI and analytics solutions, and ensure data and models meet governance, quality, security, and regulatory requirements.

You will collect and clean diverse data, apply ML models, and monitor performance with a focus on responsible AI and privacy. Collaboration with BI and regional teams is essential to deliver scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, or predictive analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R, with large datasets experience.
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, ML, and experimentation methods.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, metadata management, data catalogs, or MDM preferred.
• BI/visualization tools familiarity, preferably Power BI.
• Understanding of Responsible AI, data privacy, and security principles.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Identify data quality and governance issues and coordinate solutions with teams.
• Translate business needs into analytics, ML, and AI solutions.
• Develop, validate, deploy, and improve predictive, prescriptive, and generative AI models.
• Apply statistical analysis, feature engineering, segmentation, and scoring for insurance use cases.
• Monitor model performance, explainability, fairness, and compliance throughout the lifecycle.
• Promote responsible AI and compliance with data privacy and security requirements.
• Collaborate with business, BI, Governance, and regional teams to scale analytics.
