Job summary

Acwa Central Asia is seeking a Senior Contract Manager for Renewable Projects (Solar) in Karaman or Sivas, Turkey. The role focuses on EPC contract administration, risk review, and expedition of deliverables across multinational teams.

You will liaise with project and external stakeholders to ensure contract compliance, insurance coverage, and timely progress reporting, while supporting risk management and governance processes.

Qualifications

• Ideally a member of a recognized professional body (MRICS, MCIOB, ACIAirb, AcIrIMEch, MICE, IStruchE, etc.)
• Qualifications above degree level from reputed university or professional body or qualified by experience with progression to a senior CM role
• Strong background in contract management and understanding of English Law
• Excellent English business language skills (written and spoken)
• 10+ years’ experience in contract management for Renewable Energy (solar/wind) OR conventional power projects
• Experience working internationally in mixed nationality teams and with contractors/subcontractors
• Ability to contribute to decision-making based on experience and industry knowledge
• Experience in planning, reporting, and delay analysis
• Strong letter-writing skills related to contractual obligations
• Excellent analytical skills
• Willingness to stay updated on latest technology and innovations

Responsibilities

• Establish a list of Contractor’s deliverables under the EPC Contract
• Proactively expedite contractor awareness and compliance with contracts
• Identify shortfalls and promote remedies
• Manage the process for achieving PAC
• Monitor and maintain records of performance guarantees and insurances
• Ensure contractor compliance with insurance obligations
• Support Planning/Scheduling Manager for Monthly Progress Reports and MoMs
• Attend meetings and prepare MOMs as directed by Project Director/CEO
• Oversee PC governance obligations outside Finance Department scope
• Understand and communicate scope and obligations of Project Insurances

Job description

Role: Senior Contract Manager - Renewable Projects (Solar)

Location: Karaman OR Sivas, Turkey

Internal

Working closely with the Project Team, internal Stakeholders and PEOS team, Assets team, develop relationships to understand the business drivers.

Close liaison with the Planning Manager to support actions and mitigations related to progress.

External

Needs to build a rapport with PC’s client, EPC Contractors team and consultants, , affiliates, O&M contractor (NOMAC) external consultants, technical experts, and solution providers, etc.

EPC Contract Management

• Establish a list of Contractor’s deliverables under the EPC Contract.
• Proactively expedite the contractor’s awareness and compliance with the contracts
• Identify shortfalls and promote remedies
• Manage the process for achieving PAC
• Monitor and maintain records of the performance guarantees, insurances for which the contractor is responsible.
• Endeavour to ensure the contractors compliance with the insurance obligations
• Support Planning/Scheduling Manager to review Monthly Progress Reports and regular meeting MoM

To minimize the risk of commercial exposure to the Project Company (PC) and by extension ACWA and their affiliates by providing the following:

1. Administration of the Project Agreements between the PC and the PC’s employer and all other project agreements.
2. Administration of the EPC Contracts with the PC’s to facilitate the contractors compliance with their obligations under the contracts.
3. Review of all incoming correspondence from a commercial risk and contractual compliance perspective and advise the Project Team of the commercial aspects and drafting of appropriate responses.
4. Development of Contract Management processes and procedures specific for the project.
5. Development of the understanding of Contract Management withing the project team and Contract Management support to the PC and their affiliates as required.
6. Reviewing and actively contributing to the Risk Registers at both the PC level as well as the contractors.
7. Attendance at meetings and preparation of MOM’s as directed by the Project Director/CEO.
8. Oversight of the PC’s compliance with good practice and obligations under PC governance obligations outside the remit of the Finance Department.
9. Understanding and dissemination of the scope and obligations of the Project Insurances tot the PC team and the contractors. Support the PC in any insurance claims.

Qualifications

• Strong background in the management of contracts and the understanding and working experience of English Law.
• Recognized qualification in written and spoken English.
• Excellent English business language skills both written and spoken.
• 10+ years’ experience in the contract management for Renewable Energy (solar/wind) OR Conventional power plant projects
• Working internationally and in mixed nationality teams and contractors/subcontractors
• Ability to complement the decision-making processes based on experience, current knowledge and strong development in the industry.
• Working in multinational teams and support the development of team members.
• Capable of understanding the requirements for planning, reporting and the requirements for delay analysis.
• Letter writing skills related to contractual obligations.
