Job summary

Avenga is seeking an experienced CAD Automation Software Engineer to join our international Engineering Systems team. You will design, develop, and maintain CAD automation solutions and integrations that improve mechanical design efficiency and accuracy.

Work with global engineering teams to translate complex requirements into reliable software using C# and C++, with Siemens NX experience preferred. You will contribute to scalable tools and plug-ins across PLM environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in engineering/CAD software.
• Strong hands-on development experience with C#.
• Working knowledge of C++, including maintaining and extending existing applications.
• Practical experience with CAD software and design automation, preferably Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain CAD automation applications and engineering software solutions.
• Develop new applications using C# and maintain or extend existing C++ tools and integrations.
• Build and enhance custom engineering applications and third-party plug-ins for Siemens NX.
• Automate mechanical design workflows to improve engineering productivity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to translate technical requirements into practical software solutions.
• Integrate CAD applications with PLM environments, databases, and other enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot existing applications, resolve technical issues, and continuously improve software performance and maintainability.
• Contribute independently to software development activities while following established engineering and development standards.

We are looking for an experienced CAD Automation Software Engineer to join an international Engineering Systems team at Avenga.

In this role, you will develop and maintain custom engineering applications, CAD automation solutions, and integrations that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of mechanical design processes.

You will work at the intersection of software development and mechanical engineering, collaborating with global engineering teams to translate complex technical requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions.

Core skills you'll bring

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably developing engineering, CAD, or technical software solutions.
• Strong hands‑on development experience with C#.
• Working knowledge of C++, including the ability to maintain and extend existing applications.
• Practical experience with CAD software and design automation, preferably Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA.
• Understanding of mechanical design concepts, CAD modeling practices, and engineering workflows.
• Experience with Git and software version control.
• Ability to translate engineering requirements into well‑structured, maintainable software solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with international teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Siemens NX and NXOpen API.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
