Avenga is seeking a Senior AI Engineer / Founding Engineer to build end-to-end AI systems in a fast-paced R&D environment. The role covers data scraping, multi-agent backends, and a responsive 3D UI, with Python-based APIs and async workflows.

You will shape AI/ML designs, agent orchestration, vector databases, and RAG architectures, collaborating across geospatial datasets and external tools, while delivering scalable, robust systems in a distributed team.

Formación

• Experience leading ML design decisions and technical direction.
• Hands-on with frameworks like LangGraph/LangChain or similar.
• Proven ability to design multi-agent orchestration and state management.
• Strong Python and API development using FastAPI.
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval augmented generation.

Responsabilidades

• Build end-to-end AI systems spanning data scraping/ingestion, multi-agent backends, and 3D UI rendering.
• Develop AI systems using LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, function calling, and external tools.
• Design scalable Python/FastAPI backends with asynchronous programming for long-running processes.
• Create structured and validated inputs and outputs for AI systems and APIs.
• Collaborate in an R&D/POC environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Apply problem-solving and ownership to evolving AI/ML challenges.

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer / Founding Engineer to build end-to-end AI systems in a fast-moving R&D environment.

The role spans the full engineering lifecycle - from scraping and ingesting massive geological datasets, through orchestrating AI agents, to rendering 3D insights in the UI.

You will work on AI/ML system design, agentic workflows, backend development.

Core skills you’ll bring

• ML Leadership Experience - ability to review business problems, define AI/ML designs, and provide technical direction beyond agents and LLMs.
• Agentic Orchestration - strong experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or similar.
• Multi-Agent Systems - ability to design multi-agent systems, including supervisor/worker patterns, orchestration flows, and state management.
• Generative AI & LLMs - hands-on experience with LLMs such as Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar.
• RAG - strong understanding of RAG architectures, retrieval optimization, embeddings, semantic search, context handling, and prompt design.
• Function Calling & Tool Usage - experience with function calling and external tool usage.
• Vector Databases - experience with vector databases such as Vertex AI RAG Engine, Pinecone, FAISS, or similar.
• Python & API Development - strong Python skills and experience building APIs using FastAPI or similar.
• Async Programming - understanding of asynchronous programming and handling long-running processes.
• Data Modeling & Validation - experience with Pydantic or equivalent frameworks, including the ability to design structured inputs and outputs for AI systems and APIs.
