Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for the IST2 Istanbul facility. You will maintain and optimize automated material handling systems including tote sorters and conveyors, while leading projects and mentoring technicians. Strong PLC programming, SCADA, and electrical knowledge are required.
The role involves collaborating with RME, Controls Engineering, and Operations to ensure 24/7 uptime and safety compliance across shifts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics or related field.
- 2+ years of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with conveyors, sortation, or automated handling systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control docs.
- Proficient English; Turkish language also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated material handling equipment.
- Program, maintain, and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Monitor SCADA systems, HMIs, and building automation.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns across shifts.
- Collaborate with Controls, Operations, and RME teams.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics and SOPs.
- Lead automation projects including upgrades and commissioning.
- Train technicians on automation and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and maintenance practices.
