Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Turkey seeks an experienced Assistant Controller (Accounting, Reporting and Tax Manager) to lead financial reporting, compliance and tax planning. This role combines strong technical accounting expertise with hands‑on people management to optimize processes across the finance team.

You will manage month-end closes, balance sheet reconciliations, and liaise with external auditors, while ensuring compliance with local tax rules (VAT and corporate tax) and with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA/CPA/ACCA/CA is a plus.
• At least 10 years of experience in finance with progressive responsibility including people management.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting principles, US GAAP and IFRS.
• Audit/Accounting firm experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Fluency in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with local regulations, US GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate and track month-end close processes.
• Manage a team of 6‑7 associates (including Shared Service Center staff).
• Support external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate taxes and internal transfer pricing policies.
• Own selected internal controls and drive process improvements.

As an Assistant Controller (Accounting, Reporting and Tax Manager), you will play a key role in managing and optimizing our accounting processes in Turkey. What You’ll Do

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with VUK, US GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate and track the relevant timetable and hyperinflationary accounting.
• Manage a team of 6‑7 associates (including associates of a Shared Service Center).
• Manage and coordinate month‑end close processes.
• Manage account reconciliation process (Preparation & Review) to ensure strong supporting evidence is maintained for all Balance Sheet account balances.
• Support the audit process with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local tax legislation, authorities (VAT & Corporate Tax) and internal GY Transfer Pricing policies together with the Tax Specialist.
• Act as the owner of selected Internal Controls.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a relevant field (MBA, CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent is a “nice to have”).
• Minimum 10 years of experience relevant to finance and accounting with continuously increased responsibility, including people management.
• Strong knowledge in accounting principles for local, US GAAP and IFRS.
• Audit/Accounting company experience is preferred.
• Deep understanding of accounting procedures, business processes and operations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills and prior people skills to manage and develop team (2‑3 years management role).
• Fluency in Turkish and English.
