Job summary

Wanhua Chemical is seeking a Financial Accountant in Istanbul to build and operate the local financial system and manage financial operations. You will handle Turkish GAAP accounting, closing entries, invoicing, and tax compliance within a multinational environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain legal accounting books in compliance with Turkish GAAP and regulations.
• Record invoices, bank statements, and related documents; perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.
• Assist external audits with required documentation and responses.
• Handle tax compliance including VAT, income tax, and other statutory taxes; support tax firms.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements; coordinate with HQ for regular reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and cost efficiency.

The company's business involves the production and sales of many chemicals such as polyurethane, petrochemical, fine chemicals and so on.

Wanhua is looking for a Financial Accountant in Istanbul, Turkey, to be responsible for the construction of the local financial system in Turkey and the subsequent financial operation.

Duties & Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Maintaining the legal accounting books of the company in compliance with the Turkish Commercial Code, the Tax Procedure Law, and the Uniform Accounting Chart of Accounts issued by the Ministry of Finance.
• Verification and daily recording of invoices, bank statements and related accounting documents according to Turkish GAAP.
• Calculating and recording monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing entries.
• Assist in external audit processes, providing required documentation and supporting audit queries.

Tax Compliance

• Handling all invoicing, accounting, accounting books, tax and SSI related compliance matters of the company
• Have a basic understanding of Turkey tax laws for import trade-related enterprises. Support tax firms for preparation and filing of income tax, VAT, and other statutory taxes.
• Respond to the relevant questions raised by the tax authorities.
• Assist audit firms in providing corresponding tax information.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements according to local GAAP.
• Assist cooperate with headquarter to complete the disclosure of regular reports.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and drive cost efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field;

2. Experience: 3+ years in finance/accounting.

3. Language: Fluent in English (written & spoken) for daily calls and emails.

4. Skills

- Experience in SAP systems and advanced Excel.

- Familiarity with local GAAPand basic knowledge of international accounting regulations

- Prior experience in a multinational company is highly preferred.

5. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
