Accountant Specialist

Job summary

Faerch Group in Istanbul (Esenyurt) seeks an experienced accountant to manage daily transactions, AP/AR, and GL activities while supporting monthly and year-end closings.

The role requires strong knowledge of Turkish accounting standards, VAT and tax compliance, and cost/inventory accounting, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. Fluency in English is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with tax compliance, including VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Good understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting processes.
• Familiarity with local accounting regulations and chart of accounts.
• Experience in month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (Netsis is preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily accounting transactions in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general ledger activities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and statutory filings.
• Perform cost accounting activities and prepare related analyses and reports.
• Conduct account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Support the preparation of management and financial reports.
• Assist with external audits, tax audits, and other regulatory reviews.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting function.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Experience with daily finance operations, including payments, banking transactions, and posting related financial entries into the accounting system.
• Good command of written and spoken English is mandatory.
