Job summary

Propelis in Istanbul is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a hybrid basis. You will manage month-end closings, ensure accurate SAP-based postings, and support VAT and corporate tax processes while coordinating with internal teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of accounting experience, strong SAP skills, and proficiency in Turkish and English. This full-time role offers a permanent contract and a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle month-end closings and respond to questions about fluctuations in accounting records.
• Review accounts via trial balance and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
• Record accruals during month-end closings and maintain clear communication.
• Coordinate SAP-recorded Sales, Purchases, Fixed Assets, and VAT-related records.
• Review SAP records for VAT, Withholding Tax, Provisional Tax, and Corporate Tax returns.
• Assist audits, both internal and external.

We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our team based in Istanbul. Please be aware that this is a hybrid working role.

In this role you will be responsible for:

CONTROLLING

• Responding to questions regarding fluctuations and accounting records during month-end closings,
• Reviewing accounts through trial balance and ensuring coordination with relevant stakeholders,
• Identifying and recording required accruals during month-end closings and maintaining effective communication throughout the process.

FINANCE & ACCOUNTING

• Coordinating and sharing SAP-recorded Sales, Purchasing, Fixed Assets documents, accruals, and related records with the accounting teams responsible for postings; maintaining company accounting and finance documentation,
• Sharing bank transactions with the accounting teams responsible for postings and reviewing related accounting records,
• Reviewing SAP records of Accounts Payable (AP) purchase and fixed asset invoices,
• Reviewing SAP records of Accounts Receivable (AR) sales invoices,
• Providing SAP account statements required for VAT, Withholding Tax (VAT2), Provisional Tax, and Corporate Tax returns,
• Managing processes during any internal, external, or public audits.

The ideal candidate will possess:

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduated from relevant departments of universities, preferably from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences or Engineering,
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting,
• Hands-on experience in actively using SAP and performing accounting and finance transactions through SAP,
• Strong planning and organizational skills, proactive, and a team-oriented mindset,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications,
• Turkish profesional & English proficient
