Job summary

Ambiq in Singapore is seeking a Staff Applications Software Engineer (Zephyr) to drive development and testing of Zephyr software for Ambiq SoCs, including porting to Zephyr, hardware evaluation platforms, and maintaining SoC compliance. The candidate will work with the global MCU software team in a lab environment, performing hands-on debugging of embedded systems.

You will lead Zephyr repository processes, CI/CD, issue tracking, and collaborate across engineering teams to solve complex HW/SW

Qualifications

• MS in ECE or CS with 6+ years, or BS in ECE/CS with 8+ years, with Zephyr focus.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M processors.
• Deep understanding of Zephyr RTOS.
• C and assembly MCU code development for Arm Cortex-M.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, USB peripherals.
• Experience with MCU IDEs (ARM, Keil, IAR, Eclipse, Ozone).
• Security, Bluetooth, Matter/Thread, ML in Zephyr is a plus.
• Hands-on with lab equipment for debugging.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Git.
• Understanding of software testing and test automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Scripting languages, Python desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, testing, and maintenance of Ambiq’s Zephyr offering, including sample, driver, and software testcase development, and hardware enablement.
• Take a key role in Ambiq Zephyr repository processes and maintenance, including CI/CD.
• Manage Ambiq Zephyr issue status tracking, debug, and resolution.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to analyze and debug complex system level issues and develop software solutions.
• Focus on demonstrating Ambiq’s low-power advantages to the greatest extent possible within the Zephyr ecosystem.
• Create application notes and software guidelines.
• Support applications and field engineers, and key customers as needed.
