Staff Embedded Software Engineer – Cortex‑M & Zephyr

Job summary

Ambiq in Singapore seeks a Staff Applications Software Engineer to develop software for Apollo and Atomiq SoCs, including drivers, HAL updates, and Zephyr enablement. You will work with hardware and software teams and support field engineering with customer issues.

The role requires strong embedded C skills, RTOS experience, and familiarity with MCU peripherals; knowledge of Git, scripting (Python) and lab work is valued. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• MS in ECE or CS with 6+ years experience, or BS in ECE/CS with 8+ years.
• Experience developing embedded MCU code in C.
• Experience with embedded real-time environments.
• Experience with Zephyr is a plus.
• Experience with MCU IDEs from ARM, Keil, IAR, SEGGER.
• Familiarity with peripherals: SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, USB, I2S, PDM.
• Experience with Bluetooth/BLE and short-range tech like Zigbee/Thread is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages, Python desirable.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, debug, port, and analyze embedded MCU software drivers and applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to debug complex system issues and develop software solutions.
• Create application notes, knowledgebase articles, and software guidelines.
• Assist customers with Ambiq SDKs and hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on evaluation platforms.
• Develop custom software for performance analysis and silicon issue debugging.
• Bridge communication between field and engineering teams and track issues.
