Job summary

The Salvation Army Singapore invites applications for a Youth Worker Associate at Gracehaven Children's Home. You will join a care team to engage residents in holistic activities, provide guidance, supervision, and act as a positive role model in daily routines and programs.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Youth Worker Associate is part of a care team and is responsible for engaging residents in holistic and meaningful activities, providing residents with direction, guidance and supervision in daily activities and acting as a positive role model.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide genuine care and support for residents holistically


• Support in the implementation of individualized care plans


• Engage with resident to daily routines and activities/games


• Ensure consistent implementation of Home's behaviour expectations of residents


• Contribute to the preparation of reports and care plans for residents


• Ensure the general health, physical & psychological safety and well-being of every resident in our care


• Facilitate delivery of group work and support groups


• Deliver programmes independently


• Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes


• Assess the needs of residents based on information and feedback collated from multiple stakeholders


• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals


• Manage volunteers in the delivery of programmes and interventions


• Support mentoring of residents


• Identify personal and professional development goals and agenda for supervision


• Implement standards of care, organisational safety and health policies, procedures and programmes


• Deploy resources to safeguard and promote the interests of residents

Qualifications

Preferably Diploma or Degree educated or trained in Youth Work, Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing, Events Management, Community Development, Outdoor and Adventure Learning (Enrolled Nurse, Student Care Teachers or any other relevant experiences working with children and youth are welcome to apply)

Working Hours

44 working hours per week

The program is a 24/7 community care service, hence flexibility in work arrangement is expected as the need arises.

Normal Rotating Shift Hours:

• Morning Shift : 7.00am - 4.00pm


• Afternoon Shift : 1.00pm - 10.00pm
