Job summary

Methodist Welfare Services in Singapore is seeking a dedicated role to oversee residents and ensure their welfare, discipline, and safety within the home. You will engage residents, run small group activities, and maintain accurate records as part of daily programmes.

The position requires trauma‑informed care knowledge, 4–5 years’ experience, and a Diploma or O‑levels. You will work across shifting hours, collaborate with the team, and uphold a flexible approach to a varied workload.

Qualifications

• A heart to contribute to the wellbeing and development of troubled young residents of the home.
• Keenness to learn and implement Trauma Informed Care (TIC) practice.
• Minimum 4-5 years’ work experience.
• Advantageous to have experience working with youth and/or youth at-risk, though not compulsory.
• Willingness to complete on-the-job training, work as a team and be supervised.
• N/O levels or Diploma.
• Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to manage a sometimes unpredictable workload.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the residents on a daily basis; manage the welfare, discipline, and safety within the institution.
• Establish appropriate and guiding relationships with residents and be a good role model.
• Be attentive and look into residents’ well-being by being available and accountable for their whereabouts on duty.
• Motivate and engage residents to higher levels of behavioral development.
• May run small group programs with residents.
• Provide close supervision and maintain residents’ discipline in accordance with daily programmes.
• Ensure records, documentation and correspondence are updated promptly and filed accordingly.
• Participate actively and take ownership of additional portfolios assigned.
• Ensure the safety and security of premises.

Role & Responsibilities

• Able to establish appropriate and guiding relationships with residents and be good role models

• To be attentive and look into the well-being of residents by being available and accountable for their whereabouts when on duty

• This role is from Monday to Sunday (shift work) with one off day per week

  • 1st shift: 7.15am to 3.15pm

  • 2nd shift: 3pm to 11pm

  • 3rd shift: 10.45pm to 7.15am
