Job summary

Recruit Now Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) cum Fire Safety Manager for its Tuas campus in Singapore. The role involves leading the CERT team, ensuring compliance under the WSH Act and related regulations, and managing risk assessments and emergency plans.

The ideal candidate holds MOM-registered WSHO status with a Diploma in Safety & Health, plus at least 2 years in similar industries.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered WSHO with MOM.
Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering or a related discipline.
2 years of safety experience in construction, manufacturing, marine, logistics or oil & gas.
SCDF-approved Fire Safety Manager course and/or FSM registration with SCDF is a plus (not required).
Familiar with ISO 45001, the WSH Act, Risk Management Regulations and MOM/WSHC Codes of Practice.
Proficient in safety documentation, audits and safety software.

Responsibilities

Act as the appointed WSHO and Fire Safety Manager (FSM), and manage the CERT team.
Carry out WSHO and FSM legislative duties under the Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety (Fire Safety Managers) Regulations, WSH Act, WSH (WSHO) Regulations and other EHS regulations.
Oversee all EHS matters, consultation and legal compliance.
Develop, review, approve and manage risk assessments and supporting documents (method statements, safe work procedures, training competency, safety data sheets).
Review, issue and control permits-to-work for work at height, confined space, lifting, hot work and fire protection system impairment.
Develop and maintain EHS documentation, safe work procedures, the emergency response plan, records and training materials.
Arrange and conduct EHS trainings, table-top exercises, emergency drills, site inspections, audits, coaching, incident investigations and EHS committee meetings.
Promote a positive EHS culture through role modelling, communication, engagement and programmes.
Provide EHS technical support, legal updates and consultation, and follow up EHS action items to resolution.
Work with the local team to improve risk management, operational control and emergency preparedness.
Liaise with authorities on EHS compliance, mandated report submissions and licence, permit and registration renewals.
Advise on occupational health and safety, fire safety and environmental management.
Handle the SCDF annual Fire Certificate, petroleum and flammable materials storage licence and emergency response plan renewal.
Report monthly to the EHS function.
Coordinate the yearly ISO 45001:2018 and bizSAFE audits.
Other duties under the WSH Act and as assigned by management.
