Job summary

China Harbour (Singapore) Engineering Company Pte Ltd is seeking a Safety professional to assist in implementing and maintaining the health, safety, and environmental management system on the project site.

You will inspect operations, coordinate with subcontractors and WSH Coordinators, ensure PPE readiness, conduct risk assessments, and organize safety briefings to promote a secure working environment.

Qualifications

• Hold an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the marine/construction field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist WSHO & ECO in implementing and maintaining the health, safety, and environmental management system.
• Inspect and monitor construction operations to ensure safe execution within assigned areas.
• Promote safe conduct of work across the site to maintain a secure working environment.
• Liaise with sub-contractors’ site supervisors and WSH Coordinators to ensure health and safety compliance for subcontracted work.
• Ensure all workers and staff are equipped with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for their tasks.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments, safe work procedures, method statements, and briefing site personnel accordingly.
• Assist in organising and conducting mass toolbox meetings to communicate safety information.
• Inspect, monitor, and verify that all statutory equipment have valid certification and are in good working condition.
• Ensure all lifting gear, machines, and appliances comply with monthly colour coding requirements.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all necessary safety and statutory documents.
• Assist in providing and maintaining adequate first aid facilities and sufficient safety equipment on site.
• Conduct HSE induction courses for new employees and sub-contractors and organise site safety promotions.
• Assist WSHO in collecting information and preparing statutory and site safety reports.
• Take charge during accidents by organising treatment, evacuation, notifying emergency services, and informing project management.
• Collaborate closely with the construction team to enforce safe working practices and promptly address unsafe conditions or practices.
• Recommend disciplinary actions to WSHO when necessary to enforce HSE regulations and procedures
