Job summary

Search Personnel Pte Ltd is seeking a Workshop Machinist/Technician in Tuas, Singapore. The role covers setup, operation and maintenance of lathe, milling and drilling equipment, plus turbocharger component machining and repair.

You will perform precision measurements, interpret drawings, and work with turbocharger systems in a marine/engineering environment. Overtime and weekend work may be required; permanent position with competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical, Precision or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as a Machinist, Mechanical Technician or Workshop Technician.
• Hands-on experience with lathe, milling and drilling machines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience in turbocharger or heavy machinery repair is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain conventional lathe, milling, drilling and other machining equipment.
• Machining and repair of turbocharger components including casings and blades.
• Carry out turning, milling, drilling, tapping, boring and thread repair as required.
• Perform dimensional checks with micrometers and vernier calipers.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble turbochargers when needed.
• Maintain machines, tools and work areas following 5S, safety and quality standards.
• Support workshop improvements to boost quality, safety and productivity.

Job description

• Position: Workshop Machinist/Technician
• Location: Tuas – Near MRT, approximately 5–7 minutes’ walk
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Salary (commensurate with experience): S$2,300–S$2,500 Basic Monthly + AWS / Variable Bonus of up to 27.7% of Total Base Pay, subject to business and individual performance + 14 Days Annual Leave + Meal & Site Allowances for OT Work

Key Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain conventional lathe, milling, drilling and other machining equipment.
• Perform machining and repair of turbocharger components, including casings, turbine blades, rotors and other mechanical parts.
• Carry out turning, milling, drilling, tapping, boring and thread repair according to engineering requirements.
• Perform dimensional checks using micrometers, vernier calipers, boremeter and other measuring tools.
• Carry out turbocharger dismantling, inspection, repair and assembly when needed.
• Maintain machines, tools and work areas in good condition and follow 5S, safety and quality requirements.
• Support workshop improvement activities to improve quality, safety and productivity.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical, Precision or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience as a Machinist, Mechanical Technician or Workshop Technician.
• Hands‑on experience with lathe, milling, and drilling machines.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience in turbocharger, rotating equipment, marine or heavy machinery repair is an advantage.
• Hands‑on, safety‑conscious, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to work overtime if required, inclusive of weekends and public holidays.
