Job summary

Gates PCM Construction Ltd is seeking a highly capable Works Train Operations Lead in Singapore. You will oversee overall operations, coordinate manpower and train movements, and ensure safety and efficiency across site activities.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in railway operations, strong leadership, and the ability to conduct safety briefings and manage incidents. Proactive coordination with clients and teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or GCE A-Levels with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of Works Train operations and railway safety requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to submit weekly operational reports.
• Able to conduct safety briefings related to Works Train operations.
• Able to lead WTSS and WTO teams and work overtime when required.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Works Train and track-access activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, project teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure personnel comply with applicable operational and safety requirements.
• Lead and manage operational incidents, accidents, emergencies, and recovery measures.
• Supervise the performance, competency, discipline, and work activities of the Works Train operations team.
• Lead and take charge of the Works Train Safety Supervisors (WTSS) and Works Train Operators (WTO).
• Monitor operational activities and prepare regular reports for the Officer-in-Charge.
• Provide leadership and guidance to ensure effective and safe Works Train operations.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or GCE A-Levels with at least 5 years of relevant working experience or an equivalent local qualification
• Good knowledge and experience in Works Train operations and railway safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to prepare and submit weekly operational reports.
• Able to conduct safety briefings related to Works Train operations.
• Able to work independently and undertake overtime work as required.
• Able to effectively manage incidents, accidents, and emergency situations, including implementing appropriate recovery measures.
• Able to lead and supervise WTSS and WTO teams effectively.
• Good leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant experience in railway construction, railway maintenance, or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
