Job summary

GATES PCM Construction Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Railway Safety Liaison Officer to manage the safe movement of engineering trains and coordinate track protection and worksite safety arrangements.

The role requires close collaboration with Persons-in-Charge, work teams, train operators and shunters to ensure smooth operations. You will monitor activities for compliance with railway procedures, identify incidents or unsafe conditions, and report them promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum NTC 2/3, GCE O-Level or equivalent qualification.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and the importance of following established operating procedures.
• Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with different teams and worksite personnel.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain appropriate track protection and worksite safety arrangements.


• Ensure operational signs, protection equipment and related resources are properly deployed and maintained.


• Support the Operations Controller in coordinating shunting and train movement activities.


• Liaise closely with Persons-in-Charge, work teams, train operators and shunters to ensure smooth and safe operations.


• Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with railway operating procedures, safety requirements and site instructions.


• Identify and report incidents, equipment defects, unsafe conditions and other operational irregularities promptly.


• Maintain effective communication with relevant site personnel and provide timely updates on train movements and operational matters.

Job Requirements

• Minimum NTC 2/3, GCE O-Level or equivalent qualification.


• Prior experience in railway operations, engineering train activities or construction-related safety work will be an advantage.


• Good understanding of workplace safety and the importance of following established operating procedures.


• Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with different teams and worksite personnel.


• Willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays where required.


• Good communication skills, safety awareness and ability to remain alert in a worksite environment.
