Job summary

Swift Search Global Pte Ltd is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Coordinator to support the WSH Officer on Singapore construction projects. You will identify hazards, assess risks, implement controls, and conduct toolbox talks and site inspections.

You will maintain safety documentation, coordinate committee meetings and ensure compliance with the WSH Act and MOM requirements. A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience and appropriate certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• WSH Coordinator role requires recognised safety qualification (Level B or higher).
• NITEC in EES or related is advantageous.
• BCSS and Manage Work at Height certifications are preferred.
• Refresher training for WSH Coordinator per MOM requirements is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist WSH Officer and project team in hazard identification, risk assessment and safety controls.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with the WSH Act, regulations, SOPs and company safety policies.
• Lead daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness sessions for site personnel and contractors.
• Organise WSH Committee meetings, safety campaigns and safety initiatives on site.
• Coordinate safety improvements across construction sites and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain and update safety records, risk assessments, permits and training records.
• Assist in periodic WSH inspections and cross-site assessments for compliance.
• Support safety training programmes and guide site teams on risk management practices.
• Identify unsafe acts and non-compliance and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Assist in reporting incidents and near-misses and investigations as required.
• Perform other WSH duties as assigned.

Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) and project management team in identifying workplace hazards, assessing risks and implementing appropriate safety control measures.

• Conduct regular site safety inspections to identify unsafe working conditions, practices and potential hazards, and follow up on corrective actions.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, applicable regulations, approved safe work procedures and company safety policies.

• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings and awareness sessions for site personnel, contractors and subcontractors.

• Assist in organising Workplace Safety & Health Committee meetings, safety campaigns and other initiatives to promote a safe working environment.

• Monitor workplace safety, health and environmental control measures at construction sites and coordinate necessary improvements.

• Maintain and update safety-related documentation, including risk assessments, inspection reports, permits, licences, training records and other required records.

• Assist in conducting periodic WSH inspections and cross-site safety assessments to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry safety standards.

• Support the implementation of safety training programmes and provide guidance to site teams and subcontractors on risk management procedures and safe work practices.

• Identify and report unsafe acts, hazardous conditions and non-compliance issues, and coordinate timely corrective and preventive actions.

• Assist in reporting and investigating workplace incidents, accidents and near misses, where required.

• Perform other workplace safety and health-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Possess a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or other relevant qualification recognised for the WSH Coordinator role.

• A NITEC qualification in Engineering (Environment, Health & Safety) or a related discipline would be an advantage.

• Completed the required WSH Coordinator Refresher Training in accordance with prevailing MOM requirements.

• Possess Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS) certification or its recognised WSQ equivalent.

• Possess a Manage Work at Height certification.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant practical working experience in the building and construction industry.

• Familiar with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health legislation, construction safety procedures, risk assessments and site safety requirements.

• Able to conduct site safety inspections, maintain safety documentation and coordinate corrective actions effectively.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with site management, workers, contractors and subcontractors.

• Relevant experience in HDB residential or industrial development construction projects would be an advantage.
