Job summary

Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a qualified EHS Officer to oversee site safety, conduct inspections, and coordinate WSH compliance for civil infrastructure projects.

You will lead EHS inductions, manage risk assessments, investigate incidents, and support ISO/OSHA standards, with a focus on continuous improvement and worker engagement.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of construction industry experience, civil infrastructure preferred.
• Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH).
• Good knowledge of ISO and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Report to Project Director/Managers and perform WSH duties as assigned.
• Carry out daily inspections and verify hazardous works under PTW.
• Conduct EHS inductions for new employees and contractors.
• Identify hazards, implement controls, and coordinate emergency plans.
• Investigate WSH incidents and near misses and report findings.
• Promote WSH culture and ensure compliance with the WSH Management System.
• Participate in audits and ISO/CONSASS activities.

Job Description:

• Report to Project Director, Manager (Projects), WSHE Manager (Projects) / WSHO and ECO.
• Provides assistance to the WSHO & ECO in tasks assigned by the WSHO & ECO / Project Manager.
• In the absence of the WSHO & ECO, performs the above mentioned prescribed duties of the WSHO & ECO.
• Carry out daily inspections
• Functions as one of the Site EHS Assessors in verification of the hazardous works operated under assessing PTW.
• Conduct EHS induction course for new employees and contractors.
• Ensure that Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedure & Environmental Aspect & Impact Register briefed to workers and sub-contractor.
• Ensure worker and sub-contractor comply with EHS Management System.
• Participate and facilitate in ISO Management System / CONSASS and auditing.
• Investigate and report WSH incidents & near misses.
• Coordinate implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.Measure, monitor and report WSH performance.
• Administer WSH Policy
• Identify WSH hazards and implement control measures.
• Coordinate WSH Management System with legal compliance.
• Promote WSH culture development
• Facilitate effective communication and engagement at the workplace.
• Solve problems and make decisions at supervisory level.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of working experience in the construction industry - civil infrastructure project would be an advantage
• Possess Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH)
• Good knowledge in ISO and OSHA safety standards
