The Workcell Section Manager is responsible for leading and managing one or more manufacturing workcells to achieve operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, People, and Customer Satisfaction. The role provides strategic direction, operational leadership, and talent development while ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and corporate standards. The Workcell Section Manager drives continuous improvement, operational performance, and cross-functional collaboration to support sustainable growth and profitability.
Strong knowledge of electronic manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality systems, and production management. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies. Proven ability to manage P&L drivers, operating budgets, and cost reduction programs. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience managing complex operational challenges in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Proficiency in ERP/MES systems, business intelligence tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication, presentation, and influence skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related field. Minimum 8-10 years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing multiple production lines, departments, or workcells. Demonstrated success in operational leadership, customer management, and business performance improvement. Experience in medical device, healthcare, industrial, telecommunications, or electronics manufacturing preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage. Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
The Workcell Section Manager is accountable for achieving performance targets in: Safety (TRIR, Near Misses, Safety Observations) Quality (PPM, COPQ, Customer Complaints, FPY) Delivery (OTD, Schedule Adherence) Cost (Manufacturing Cost, Productivity, Labor Efficiency) Inventory (DOH, DII, Excess & Obsolete) Customer Satisfaction Employee Engagement and Retention Continuous Improvement Savings Operational Excellence Metrics
