Job summary

Pointstar seeks an experienced IT Systems Administrator to operate in an Enterprise environment. You will plan, deploy, and monitor Windows/Wintel and Linux infrastructure and perform daily health checks, patching, and trouble-shooting.

You will manage server builds, handle change requests, and ensure high availability while liaising with vendors for resolution and support.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server OS (3 years).
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter (3 years).
• Familiarity with backup software and SAN storage technologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deploy, manage and monitor Windows, Wintel and Linux infrastructure.
• Daily operational tasks including health checks, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Deploy server/VM builds to support applications.
• Manage change requests and deployments, with proper lifecycle.
• Ensure high availability and perform remediation as needed.

Job description

• At least 2 years of experience operating in an Enterprise environment and processes (L2 or L3).
• Plan, deploy, manage and monitor systems and infrastructure of Windows server, Wintel, and Linux environment (90% Windows, 10% Linux).
• Daily operational tasks of system administration (health checks, pre and post-patch checks, troubleshooting, diagnostic).
• Deploy and configure server/VM builds to support the deployment of applications.
• Experienced using vSphere, ESXi and vCenter to manage, deploy, configure and patch will be advantageous for the candidate.
• Experience in IT operations, incident management and change management is preferred.
• Take proactive actions to ensure that systems and infrastructure meet high levels of availability.
• Plan, manage, execute and close change requests and deployments.
• Plan and perform patching following best practices (Build, test, snapshot, pilot, release, monitor, rollback).
• Perform an assessment of server environments and recommend changes to improve system performance and overall stability.
• Perform migrations / installations / upgrades of Windows operating systems and installed applications.
• Maintain and operate complex Windows AD and domain controllers.
• Liaise with various vendors or personnel for troubleshooting and resolution.
• Be on standby for urgent matters, and perform hands‑on troubleshooting as required.
• Perform security patches on Windows.
• Perform firmware upgrade on hardware.
• Experience in working and administering any SAN technologies such Pure and EMC.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration and troubleshooting of Window Server OS 3 years.
• Experience in administration and troubleshooting of VMWare Ver 6 and above 3 years.
• Handle any backup software before.
• ITIL certified.
• Able to handle Storage Area Network 3 years.
