Job summary

SCIENTE in Singapore is seeking a Windows Cloud Infrastructure Expert to oversee production operations, manage critical escalations, and ensure infrastructure stability across Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, GCP and HPE environments in a financial services setting.

The role focuses on driving technical improvements, infrastructure projects, and operational best practices, supporting a multi-technology stack and ensuring SLA compliance for critical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of Windows Infrastructure Management experience.
• Hands-on Windows OS, Hyper-V, and Failover Clustering expertise.
• Experience with HP hardware and multi-hypervisor environments.
• Scripting in Python and PowerShell with workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Windows Operations activities and incident resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to the team.

Job description

We are hiring a Windows Cloud Infrastructure Expert to oversee production operations, manage critical escalations, and ensure infrastructure stability across Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, GCP and HPE environments. The ideal candidate will drive technical improvements, infrastructure projects and operational best practices within a financial services environment.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field;
• Must have 2 - 5 years of experience in Windows Infrastructure Management;
• Strong hands-on expertise in Windows OS, Hyper-V and Failover Clustering;
• Hands-on experience with HPE hardware (DL, Synergy, SimpliVity and Alletra series);
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and PowerShell, including workflow integration tools;
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows patch management tools;
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across multiple technologies;
• Good knowledge of VMware (vSphere, vCenter, vROps and vRLI) is an added advantage;
• Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
• Customer-focused, proactive team player with the ability to work under pressure.

Desired Skill-set

• Scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Perl, or VBS, including workflow integration tools;
• Experience with monitoring and patching/deployment tools such as HP OMI, Tivoli, Altiris, or BMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical activities, task delegation and issue resolution within the Windows Operations team;
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing to improve team capabilities and performance;
• Manage and enhance Windows infrastructure services, ensuring system availability, reliability and SLA compliance;
• Drive automation, technology adoption and continuous service improvements to enhance operational efficiency;
• Lead complex incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions;
• Review technology changes, assess risks and ensure production readiness of new projects and solutions;
• Collaborate with technical teams, architects, service managers and project stakeholders on infrastructure projects and technology roadmaps;
• Act as the technical escalation point for clients, managing service quality, requests and operational risks;
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, security and internal policies;
• Work on rotating shifts covering European business hours, with rotational on-call support during weekdays and weekends.
