Private Advertiser is seeking a qualified Welder for site installation and fabrication teams focused on stainless and carbon steel piping systems and structural frameworks in process and pharmaceutical environments.
The role requires hands‑on welding, gas purging, equipment setup, and rigorous weld inspection to meet NDT acceptance criteria, with strict adherence to PTW and GMP housekeeping requirements on site.
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Welder to join our site installation and fabrication team. In this role, you will carry out high-quality welding on stainless steel (SS) and carbon steel (CS) process piping systems, as well as structural steel frameworks across process and pharmaceutical plant facilities.
Piping Welding (GTAW / TIG): Perform full-penetration GTAW root pass, fill, and cap welding on Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316L) and Carbon Steel (CS) process pipes in various positions (e.g., 2G, 5G, 6G).
Purge Gas Management: Ensure proper internal backing gas (Argon) purging setups for stainless steel piping to prevent oxidation, sugaring, or internal root contamination.
Structural Steel Welding (SMAW): Execute manual metal arc (SMAW / Shielded Metal Arc) welding on structural steel supports, platforms, pipe racks, skids, and secondary brackets in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Welding Equipment & Consumable Control: Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines, TIG torches, regulators, gas hoses, and grounding clamps. Correctly select, handle, and store welding consumables (filler wires, flux-coated electrodes, and baking ovens).
Inspection & Quality Compliance: Clean, deburr, and prepare weld joints; inspect finished welds visually for surface defects (porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, cracks) to ensure 100% compliance with NDT (RT/PT/VT) acceptance criteria.
Site Coordination & Safety: Follow daily site Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols, hot-work safety procedures, fire watch standards, and cleanroom/GMP plant housekeeping requirements.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Qualified welder holding valid Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ / 6G certification) in:
GTAW (TIG) for Stainless Steel (SS) piping.
GTAW (TIG) for Carbon Steel (CS) piping.
SMAW (Arc) for Structural Steel.
Relevant trade qualification (NITEC, CoreTrade, SEC/SEC(K), or equivalent testing authority certification).
Experience:
Proven experience in welding process plant piping, high-pressure lines, or utility systems.
Familiarity with local Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) standards and operational procedures in process plants, refineries, or pharmaceutical facilities is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Familiar with piping components, welding machine accessories, shielding gases, and welding consumables.
Capable of interpreting basic piping isometrics, weld symbols, and WPS sheets.
Language: Basic English proficiency (capable of understanding site safety instructions, toolbox briefings, and daily work tasks).
