Job summary

NTS COMPONENTS SINGAPORE PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a skilled TIG Weld Technician to join our fabrication team. You will weld stainless steel and carbon steel, interpret drawings, set welding parameters, and ensure high-quality cosmetic and structural welds.

You will work with thin sheet-metal parts, fixtures, and jigs, preventing distortion and defects while maintaining safe, efficient workmanship in a quality-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of TIG welding experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel TIG welding.
• Experience with thin sheet-metal welding is highly preferred.
• Ability to independently set welding parameters according to material and thickness.
• Good understanding of filler materials, shielding gases, and tungsten selection.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Good knowledge of welding distortion and methods to control deformation.
• Ability to produce clean and cosmetically acceptable welds.
• Experience using Vernier calipers, measuring tapes, squares, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel components.
• Weld thin sheet-metal parts, frames, covers, brackets, structures, and fabricated assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Set up TIG welding machines and determine appropriate welding parameters.
• Prepare components through cleaning, fitting, alignment, clamping, and tack welding.
• Use welding jigs and fixtures to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Perform butt joints, fillet joints, corner joints, and other required weld configurations.
• Control welding sequence and heat input to minimize distortion and deformation.
• Produce consistent welds meeting penetration, strength, weld-profile, and cosmetic requirements.
• Identify and prevent welding defects such as porosity, cracks, undercut, lack of fusion, and burn-through.
• Perform grinding, blending, and weld finishing where required.
• Conduct visual inspection of completed welds before submission to Quality.
• Perform approved repair and rework welding when required.
• Properly handle parts to prevent scratches, dents, and cosmetic damage.
• Maintain welding machines, torches, fixtures, and tools in good working condition.
• Follow company safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing procedures.

• Experience in precision sheet-metal, semiconductor equipment, machine covers, frames, or high-specification manufacturing is an advantage.
