Job summary

IHH Healthcare is seeking a Patient Meals Service Assistant to provide high-standard meal and water services for patients at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore.

Role focuses on serving meals, managing orders, ensuring dietary needs are met, maintaining hygiene, and handling patient feedback with discretion in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Primary school education.
• Able to speak, write and read English and preferably understand one or more local dialects.
• Completed NEA hygiene or basic food handling courses.
• Preferably some service experience in hotels, restaurants or institutional settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide and serve meals and beverages to patients, lodgers and visitors.
• Record and compile patient meal orders and attend to special needs and last-minute arrangements.
• Check meals for dietary requirements before serving.
• Change daily water jars and utensils for patients.
• Ensure pantry stock is sufficient and replenished from store.
• Maintain clean, hygienic pantry and ward areas.
• Handle patient feedback/complaints and report to supervisor.
• Inspect patient rooms daily for amenities and minibar replenishment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Provide high standard of daily water and meals service to patient in accordance with policies standards and guidelines.

Work Location: Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital

Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Provide and serve meals and beverage services to patient, lodger and visitors.
• Place, collect and compile patient meal order and attend to special needs/requirements and last minutes’ arrangements.
• Check meals properly according to patient medical and dietary needs before serving.
• Provide and change daily water jars, mugs and flasks for patient.
• Ensure sufficient pantry stock and up from store when necessary.
• Ensure clean and hygienic pantry and ward.
• Handle patient feedback/ complaint and report to supervisor or senior butler.
• Inspection of patient room daily in preparation of patient's arrival e.g. amenities, replenishment of mini bar and water etc.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient's information.
• Perform any other job as assigned.

Requirements:

• Primary school education.
• Able to speak, write and read English and preferably be able to understand one or more local dialects.
• Completed all courses conducted by NEA or basic hygiene courses on sanitation and hygiene related or food handling issues.
• Preferably with some service experiences from hotel, restaurant or institutional establishment.
