Job summary

HSBC Singapore is seeking a high-calibre professional to lead the VP Staff Training and Competency Development. In this role you will shape the Wealth Academy, set strategy and governance to align training with business priorities, and drive a scalable curriculum across blended, digital, classroom, and on-the-job delivery.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as aVP Staff Training and Competency Development.

In this role you will:

  • You will shape and champion the Wealth Academy as a flagship capability program, setting the strategy and governance to ensure all training and recognition activity aligns to the Academy vision, brand and business priorities.
  • You will help support the end-to-end learning agenda for Wealth (investments and insurance), setting standards for design and delivery to ensure programs are engaging, commercially impactful and fully compliant with regulatory and conduct requirements.
  • You will lead the build of a scalable curriculum and delivery model (blended learning, digital, classroom and on-the-job), using data and frontline feedback to continuously improve effectiveness and adoption.
  • You will partner with senior stakeholders, product and proposition owners, Compliance, Risk, HR and external providers to ensure content accuracy, consistency and timely deployment across markets/segments.
  • You will help set the recognition strategy for Wealth, designing campaigns and performance celebrations that reinforce desired behaviors, customer outcomes and sustainable growth.
  • You will oversee internal communications for the Academy, creating a compelling narrative and multi-channel plan that increases visibility, engagement and pride across the organization.
  • You will lead the creation of success stories and best-practice showcases, translating results into repeatable playbooks that motivate teams and accelerate performance.
  • You will drive the development and communication of career pathways and accreditation frameworks, ensuring clear linkage between capability building, recognition and progression for frontline and specialist roles.

To be successful you will need:

  • Significant experience leading learning & development, capability building, or employee engagement at scale, ideally within banking/wealth management and in regulated environments.
  • Strong wealth management background with credible exposure to investment and insurance products; able to translate product and market complexity into practical frontline capability.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with a track record of influencing key stakeholders and audiences
  • Demonstrated experience designing and governing recognition programmes and internal communications that shift culture and improve performance outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives and high-impact success stories
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen to interpret sales and capability data, diagnose root causes, prioritise interventions and measure ROI of learning and recognition initiatives.Passion for people development and celebrating success, with a strong sense of ownership, integrity and commitment to delivering sustainable customer and business outcomes.
