Job summary

PERSOL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. invites an experienced Marine Underwriter to lead the Marine section, driving strategic direction and seamless operations in Singapore's marine portfolio.

You will underwrite Marine Cargo, Liabilities and Hull, develop growth strategies, manage renewals and collaborate with brokers to strengthen profitability and risk management.

A minimum of 10 years in underwriting is required, with proven leadership and a track record in marine specialty lines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in underwriting or related operational roles.
• Solid experience and knowledge in underwriting Marine Cargo and Hull business.
• Strong business analysis skills with a focus on delivering results.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Proven leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Marine section to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop and implement effective sales and underwriting strategies to achieve targeted growth and profitability.
• Underwrite all marine cargo, cargo liabilities, and marine hull business within assigned authority limits, adhering to company guidelines and treaty terms.
• Seek treaty clearance and oversee the placement of facultative reinsurance.
• Review renewal terms and pursue policy renewals to enhance business retention.
• Conduct or arrange training sessions for intermediaries and business partners.
• Engage in credit control and premium management activities.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by Senior Management.
