Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure professional to build and support a highly available, secure, and compliant platform. You will work across Windows Server, VMware, and cloud technologies to deliver resilient services in a regulated banking environment.

You will implement infrastructure as code, manage backups and security hardening, participate in audits and DR exercises, and collaborate with architects, service build, and operations teams to keep systems

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in server/system administration and root-cause analysis.
• 5+ years’ experience deploying infrastructure (on‑prem, private cloud, public cloud).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Chef, Ansible.
• OS knowledge: Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Unix.
• Experience with SAN storage and backup.
• Knowledge of VMware, OpenShift/Kubernetes; cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a highly available, secure IT infrastructure and platform.
• Install and upgrade hardware and software; perform hardening to bank standards.
• Manage backups/restores and file systems; monitor performance.
• Implement and maintain IaC, tooling, and processes.
• Coordinate with architects, service build, change & control, and DR teams.

Job Description

Build and support a highly available, reliable, secure and recoverable IT infrastructure and platform that complies to the Bank’s and regulatory requirements, including:

• Windows Server, VMware products and third party software installation, upgrades and maintenance.
• Installation of hardware and software.
• Implement and review hardening of servers and systems to Bank’s standards.
• Maintenance and setup of file systems.
• Resolve software problems with operating systems or third party products
• Maintenance of Anti-Malware/Virus System.
• File System and Database Backups/restores.
• Setup guidelines, process to enhanced current work activity.
• Performance Monitoring.
• Maintain system security and compliance.
• Configuration management.
• Implement DR plan and participate in DR exercise.
• Supports the Solution Architects, Service Build, Change & Control Management and Service Recovery teams in design, build, configuration, testing and deployment.
• Establish and implement Infrastructure as Code, tools and processes.
• Track and implement infrastructure EOS/EOL plan, upgrades, tech refresh and patching.
• Investigate infrastructure related incidents and remediation actions.
• Participate in internal and external audit activities.
• Liaise with external vendors to accomplish infrastructure design, development, and operations goals.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in server/ system administration, troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis
• At least 5 years’ experience with engineering, building, configuring and deployment of infrastructure solutions (on-premises, private cloud and public cloud) including:
• Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Chef and Ansible;
• Operating Systems such as Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux and Unix;
• SAN storage and backup;
• VMware;
• Containers such as OpenShift and Kubernetes; and
• Cloud such as AWS, Azure and GCP.

• Experience in integrating with 3rd party service platforms.
