Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a data governance professional in Singapore to enhance risk data governance and BCBS 239 alignment within RMDAP. You will collaborate with the Data Management Office and stakeholders to identify KDEs, document data lineage, and monitor data quality.

You will also help coordinate data ownership, sourcing standards, and metadata management while contributing to governance procedures that meet regulatory expectations across global/regional requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data science, engineering, business, risk management, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in IT systems, operations, or data management within a financial institution.
• Hands-on data governance experience including KDE management, data lineage, and data quality.
• Experience contributing to business process re-engineering or operational transformation projects.
• Strong coordination across departments, functions, and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Support governance alignment with BCBS 239 principles and bank data governance framework.
• Collaborate with report owners and DMO to implement KDE, data lineage, and data quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties for data ownership, sourcing standards, and metadata management.
• Develop and maintain data governance procedures aligned with regulatory expectations and global/regional requirements.
• Centralize data sources and rationalize reporting to improve efficiency.
• Identify and remediate EUC applications and support IT solutions for reporting automation.
• Contribute to AI-driven operational transformation initiatives and governance.
