Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related discipline.
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience across technology risk, cybersecurity risk, information security or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML security risks and controls, including model security and privacy.
• Familiarity with AI governance and regulatory expectations.
• Experience developing risk appetite measures, KRIs and risk reporting.

A leading global financial services organisation is looking for an experienced AI Security & Technology Risk professional to join its technology risk function.

With Artificial Intelligence becoming increasingly embedded across business and technology environments, this role will provide independent risk oversight and challenge over the organisation's adoption of AI and other emerging technologies.

The successful candidate will combine a strong foundation in technology and cybersecurity risk with practical knowledge of AI/ML security, AI governance and emerging technology risks. You will work closely with technology, cybersecurity, risk and business stakeholders to identify emerging risks, assess the effectiveness of controls and help strengthen the organisation's approach to the secure and responsible adoption of AI.

Key Responsibilities:

AI Security & Emerging Technology Risk

• Provide independent risk oversight and challenge across AI/ML platforms, applications and use cases.
• Assess security risks associated with AI technologies, including model vulnerabilities, adversarial attacks, data leakage, privacy risks and AI-enabled cyber threats.
• Review the design and effectiveness of security controls surrounding the development, deployment and ongoing use of AI solutions.
• Evaluate new and emerging AI technologies and advise stakeholders on potential security implications and appropriate safeguards.
• Support the development and enhancement of the organisation's AI security, governance and risk management practices.
• Keep abreast of evolving AI security threats, regulatory developments and industry practices, translating these into practical risk considerations for the organisation.

Technology & Cybersecurity Risk

• Conduct independent assessments of technology and cybersecurity risks and controls, identifying weaknesses and recommending appropriate remediation.
• Review technology and cybersecurity incidents, including root-cause analysis, control failures and remediation plans, and provide independent challenge where required.
• Assess whether technology and security controls remain appropriate as the organisation introduces new platforms, technologies and ways of working.
• Develop and monitor relevant risk appetite measures, KRIs and management reporting to provide visibility over material technology and AI-related risks.
• Identify emerging risk themes and communicate their potential impact to senior stakeholders.
• Work with technology, cybersecurity and business teams to strengthen controls while maintaining appropriate independent risk oversight.
• Partner with other risk and assurance functions to provide a coordinated view of technology and cybersecurity risk.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience across technology risk, cybersecurity risk, information security, technology assurance or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML security risks and controls, including areas such as model security, adversarial attacks, data protection and privacy.
• Familiarity with security techniques applicable to AI/ML environments, including adversarial testing, robustness testing and privacy-preserving approaches.
• Good understanding of AI governance, responsible AI and emerging regulatory expectations.
• Experience developing or working with risk appetite measures, KRIs and senior management risk reporting.
