Job summary

Confidential Bank Singapore is seeking a senior-level manager to own AI risk oversight across the business, inside a broader enterprise risk and governance structure. You will influence how AI systems are registered, assessed and monitored, operating where bold decisions are required under pressure.

This is a senior, high‑visibility role requiring hands‑on risk management experience, stakeholder engagement with senior leadership, and practical understanding of AI deployment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in risk management, technology risk, or data governance with AI exposure.
• Hands-on risk management experience, not just advisory.
• Technical understanding of how AI systems are built and deployed.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to challenge senior owners when needed.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end governance lifecycle for AI systems from registration to monitoring.
• Assess AI risk and control gaps against policy and drive remediation.
• Chair or contribute to a local AI governance forum and maintain current documentation.

A leading financial services institution in Singapore is growing out its AI governance function and is looking for a senior‑level manager to take ownership of AI risk oversight across the business. This is a newly elevated position sitting within a broader enterprise risk and governance structure, with genuine influence over how AI systems are assessed, approved and monitored.

This role suits someone who has actually sat inside a risk function and made calls under pressure, not someone who has only advised from the outside. You will be expected to hold your ground with senior stakeholders, explain your reasoning clearly, and propose a workable path forward when a deployment hits a snag rather than escalating and stopping there.

What you'll be doing

• Own the end‑to‑end governance lifecycle for AI systems, from initial registration through risk assessment, approval and ongoing monitoring
• Assess AI‑related risk and control gaps against regulatory expectations and internal policy, and drive remediation where needed
• Chair or contribute to a local AI governance forum, tracking actions and keeping documentation current
• Act as the first point of escalation when a business unit pushes back on a governance decision, balancing delivery pressure against genuine risk
• Coach and upskill business stakeholders on responsible AI practices and what good governance looks like in practice
• Keep pace with regulatory developments in AI risk and translate them into practical internal standards
• Represent the function in industry and cross‑team forums

What you'll bring

• 7 or more years' experience in risk management, technology risk, or data governance, ideally with direct exposure to AI or machine learning systems
• Hands‑on, operational experience of managing risk, not solely an advisory or consulting background
• A working understanding of how AI systems are built and deployed, enough to have a credible technical conversation, not just a policy one
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge senior business owners when the risk case warrants it
• Sound judgment on materiality: the ability to distinguish a genuine governance issue from a procedural one, and to explain the difference
• Familiarity with recognised AI governance and risk frameworks (for example NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Candidates with a strong AI engineering background who can demonstrate risk awareness will also be considered
