HSBC Life in Singapore is seeking a Vice President, Procurement Lead to establish objectives, governance and lead strategic sourcing across significant categories. You will drive cost reduction while maintaining service resilience, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology and Operations to uphold controls.

The role reports into HSBC Life in Singapore and offers a hybrid working arrangement within a leading global bank.

Qualifications

• Extensive procurement and strategic sourcing experience in large organisations.
• Experience with source-to-contract and procure-to-pay platforms (Coupa, SAP Ariba).
• Ability to influence senior executives and lead cross-functional teams.

• Establish clear objectives, performance measures and governance for the procurement team.
• Promote consistent procurement standards, processes and controls across the organisation.
• Lead strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract award activity for significant and complex categories.
• Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership while protecting service quality, resilience and control effectiveness.
• Monitor procurement performance through measurable savings, cost avoidance, service improvements and risk reduction.
• Maintain a robust procurement control framework, including delegated authorities, segregation of duties and approval standards.
• Ensure appropriate due diligence, approvals, contract controls, performance reviews and exit plans are in place.
• Escalate material supplier issues promptly and lead remediation where required.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Procurement Lead.

In this role you will:

• Establish clear objectives, performance measures and governance for the procurement team.
• Promote consistent procurement standards, processes and controls across the organisation.
• Lead strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract award activity for significant and complex categories.
• Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership while protecting service quality, resilience and control effectiveness.
• Monitor procurement performance through measurable savings, cost avoidance, service improvements and risk reduction.
• Maintain a robust procurement control framework, including delegated authorities, segregation of duties and approval standards.
• Ensure appropriate due diligence, approvals, contract controls, performance reviews and exit plans are in place.
• Escalate material supplier issues promptly and lead remediation where required.

To be successful you will need:

• Strongexperience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, commercial negotiations and supplier relationship management in a mid-to-large organization.
• Experience working with source-to-contract and procure-to-pay platforms and setting up of procurement function, including policy, process, and implementing procurement tooling (e.g. Coupa, SAP Ariba).
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, control frameworks, contract management and operational resilience.
• Experience influencing senior executives and working effectively with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology and Operations.
• Demonstrable experience delivering sustainable commercial value without compromising control, service or resilience.
• People leadership experience.
