The team works with global, regional, and local market teams to build practical standards, frameworks, tools, training, and service offerings that help client teams deliver better media thinking and stronger business outcomes. The function focuses on three core areas:

  • Building a more consistent approach to media craft, quality, governance, and best practice across APAC markets.
  • Identifying shifts in consumer behaviour, platforms, technology, and market dynamics, then turning them into useful guidance for teams.
  • Helping incubate and scale regional and global media capability offerings across planning, investment, measurement, innovation, and AI-enabled solutions.
About the Role

As VP, Media Capabilities, APAC, you will support the development and delivery of Omnicom’s media capabilities agenda across the region. This role is about turning strategy into practical action. You will help shape regional workstreams, coordinate initiatives across markets, support adoption of global priorities, and bring teams together around common standards and ways of working. You will work closely with the President of Media Capabilities, APAC, global capability teams, market leaders, investment and partnerships teams, client teams, and specialist communities across the region. The role requires someone who understands media craft, enjoys connecting dots across markets, and can move ideas from discussion into delivery. You will help ensure that APAC teams have the tools, guidance, training, and support they need to deliver modern, consistent, and effective media solutions for clients.

Responsibilities
Media Craft & Capability Development
  • Support the delivery of regional plans that advance Omnicom’s media capability priorities across APAC.
  • Help define and embed practical standards for media planning, investment, measurement, effectiveness, innovation, and client delivery.
  • Translate global capability priorities into clear regional frameworks, tools, playbooks, and guidance for APAC markets.
  • Work with market teams to understand what is working, where support is needed, and how best practices can be shared more widely.
  • Partner with investment, partnerships, strategy, data, technology, and planning teams to connect capability work with real client and market needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve media craft through better processes, stronger guidance, smarter tools, and more consistent ways of working.
Regional Initiative Delivery
  • Coordinate key APAC media capability initiatives from planning through to rollout, adoption, and reporting.
  • Build clear project plans, timelines, stakeholder maps, and deliverables for priority workstreams.
  • Track progress across markets and help resolve blockers where needed.
  • Prepare clear updates, summaries, and recommendations for regional and global stakeholders.
  • Support governance routines for major initiatives, including working sessions, leadership updates, and market check-ins.
  • Ensure regional programmes are consistent enough to scale, while still flexible enough for local market needs.
Market Enablement & Community Building
  • Build strong working relationships with APAC market leads, craft specialists, and capability communities.
  • Create forums, working groups, and regular touchpoints that help markets share learnings and solve common challenges.
  • Support training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing programmes for market and client teams.
  • Identify strong market examples, case studies, tools, and practices that can be reused across APAC.
  • Help create a more connected regional media community with shared priorities, clearer communication, and stronger collaboration.
  • Act as a bridge between global teams, regional leadership, and local market practitioners.
  • Support the rollout of emerging media capability offerings across APAC, including areas such as AI-enabled planning, workflow, optimization, measurement, and effectiveness.
  • Help identify practical use cases for new tools, platforms, partnerships, automation, and AI solutions.
  • Work with relevant teams to assess market readiness and support structured pilots or rollouts.
  • Track relevant shifts in platforms, consumer behaviour, technology, and the wider media landscape.
  • Turn new developments into useful guidance, simple frameworks, and practical next steps for teams.
  • Help ensure innovation is connected to real client value, not just shiny-object theatre.
Client & Commercial Impact
  • Support the development of capability narratives, materials, and proof points that help client teams explain Omnicom’s media strengths.
  • Help connect capability initiatives to client challenges, new business opportunities, and organic growth priorities.
  • Work with client and market teams to identify where stronger media capability can improve outcomes.
  • Support the creation of case studies and success stories that show the impact of APAC capability initiatives.
  • Help ensure media capability work is practical, commercially relevant, and easy for teams to use.
What Success Looks Like

  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders while staying close to operational detail.
  • Curiosity about emerging technology, AI, automation, and how these can improve media delivery.
