Qualifications

Vice President - District Cooling & Mechanical Infrastructure

Mechanical Engineering | Contractual -Full-Time | On-Site

The Vice President -District Cooling & Mechanical Infrastructure will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, reliability, efficiency, and expansion of the District Cooling System (DCS) and associated mechanical infrastructure at GIFT City.

The role will ensure world-class uptime, energy efficiency, sustainability benchmarks, regulatory compliance, lifecycle optimization, and scalability aligned with GIFT City’s growth as a global financial and smart urban ecosystem.

Compensation
  • Industry-leading compensation aligned with infrastructure leadership benchmarks. (in the pay-scale of Rs.1,44,200-2,18,200 as per 7th CPC)

Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
  • Minimum 60% in graduation and higher studies.
Experience

Role Descriptions
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute long-term strategy for District Cooling and mechanical utilities aligned with GIFT City’s master plan.
  • Lead capacity planning and infrastructure augmentation to meet future demand.
  • Benchmark operations against leading global district cooling systems (e.g., GCC, Singapore, Europe).
  • Drive digitization, automation, and smart infrastructure integration.
Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
  • Ensure 24x7 uninterrupted operations with best-in-class uptime (target >99.9%).
  • Oversee chiller plants, thermal storage systems, distribution networks, pumping systems, and related mechanical assets.
  • Establish preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks.
  • Lead emergency response and disaster recovery planning.
Energy Efficiency & Sustainability
  • Drive carbon reduction initiatives aligned with ESG commitments.
  • Integrate renewable energy and advanced cooling technologies where feasible.
  • Monitor and reduce water consumption and chemical usage.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets (OPEX & CAPEX).
  • Monitor plant performance KPIs and cost efficiency metrics.
  • Evaluate tariff structures and commercial models.
  • Lead techno-commercial evaluation of upgrades and expansions.
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • State and Central electricity and environmental regulations
    • Pollution control norms
    • Safety and industrial regulations
  • Maintain documentation, audits, and statutory reporting.
Project Management & Expansion
  • Lead greenfield/brownfield expansion projects.
  • Oversee EPC contractors, consultants, and OEMs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Stakeholder Management
  • Interface with:
    • Building developers
    • IFSC units
    • Regulatory authorities
    • Utility providers
  • Manage SLAs and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Act as escalation authority for critical operational issues.
  • Build and lead a high-performance engineering team.
  • Drive capability development and succession planning.
