Singapore Exchange Limited seeks an experienced depository professional to join the Securities Exchange Operations team. You will drive operational excellence, digital transformation, and strategic initiatives across the securities value chain in Singapore’s capital markets ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in securities operations, depository, or related functions.
  • Direct exposure to listing, custody, depository services or settlements.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end lifecycle for equities and fixed income.
  • Understanding of exchange and depository rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing market-critical operations and incident response.
  • Proven track record in leading digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to coordinate across technology, product, legal, risk and compliance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across Issuance & Custody and Accounts & Transactions to enhance depository services.
  • Drive process reengineering, automation, and data-driven improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects for new product launches and platform upgrades.
  • Engage regulators, issuers, members, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, strengthen controls, and address regulatory findings.
  • Oversee depository services for market participants including primary issuances and cross-border settlements.
  • Provide operational leadership during market events and critical business activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement to boost efficiency, resilience, and customer experience.

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced depository professional to join the Securities Exchange Operations team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Singapore's capital markets ecosystem by driving operational excellence, business transformation, and strategic initiatives across the securities value chain.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting issuance and listing activities for a diverse range of products, facilitating cross-border and cross-listed securities, and enhancing asset servicing capabilities for both institutional and retail customers. Working at the intersection of operations, technology, and business, the role will be responsible for delivering operational resilience, improving client experience, and shaping future-state depository and custody services.

This position is well suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic and complex environments, possess strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, and have a proven track record in leading digital transformation while balancing strategic initiatives with operational responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work across Issuance & Custody and Accounts & Transactions functions to enhance institutional and retail depository services, harmonise CDP service offerings, and support the evolution towards future broker custody models.
  • Drive process reengineering, operational excellence, and control enhancements through workflow optimisation, automation, digitalisation, and data-driven improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives to support new product launches, market enhancements, platform modernisation, and operational capability development.
  • Partner closely with regulators, issuers, members, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, market integrity, regulatory compliance, and successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks while strengthening controls and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal governance requirements.
  • Manage and enhance depository services for market participants, including primary issuances of equities and bonds, cross-border settlement services, and the deposit and withdrawal of securities.
  • Provide operational leadership during market incidents, production events, and critical business activities within a 24-hour operating environment, ensuring timely resolution and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, resilience, and customer experience across the securities ecosystem.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a securities exchange, central securities depository, clearing house, custodian bank or securities operation’s function.
  • Direct exposure to securities listing and admission, primary issuance, custody, corporate actions, depository services or securities settlement.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end lifecycle for equities and fixed income securities, including issuance, settlement, asset servicing and redemption.
  • Sound understanding of exchange and depository rules, operating procedures, market practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage market-critical operations, settlement exceptions, corporate action discrepancies and operational incidents.
  • Established stakeholder engagement with issuers, issue managers, Depository Agents, brokers, custodians, clearing members, regulators and tax authorities.
  • Competence in operational risk assessment, control implementation, and remediation of audit or regulatory findings.
  • Track record in delivering depository or settlement system enhancements, including requirements definition, user acceptance testing and operational readiness.
  • Ability to lead operations teams and coordinate delivery across technology, product, legal, risk, compliance and regulatory functions.
