A globally minded investment firm with a multi-billion dollar portfolio is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Communications to join its Asia headquarters in a role spanning the firm's markets across Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States. The firm takes a long-term partnership approach to investing in established, founder and family-led businesses with regional and global ambitions. Working closely with the leadership team, the successful candidate will shape and manage the firm's regional and global communications strategy, strengthen its external positioning, and ensure clear, consistent messaging across internal and external stakeholders, including coverage for an affiliated investment subsidiary. This is an opportunity for a strategic, hands‑on communications professional to make a meaningful mark on the firm's branding and stakeholder engagement.
Role
- Develop and execute the firm's global corporate communications strategy, aligning with business priorities, brand positioning and its long-term partnership approach to investing
- Partner with the leadership team to shape key messages, communications plans and stakeholder engagement priorities across internal and external audiences
- Work closely with leadership and PR agencies to prepare high‑quality communications materials, including press releases, key messages, Q&A, speeches, briefing notes and leadership communications
- Develop and advise on press release distribution strategies, including target media lists, timing, sequencing, markets and channels
- Manage media relations, including coordinating interviews, preparing spokespeople, and handling media enquiries and journalist follow‑ups
- Support communications for major firm milestones, including fundraising activities, investments, exits, strategic partnerships and senior appointments
- Work cross‑functionally across the firm and its affiliated entities to ensure communications are well‑coordinated, timely and consistent with the firm's reputation and regulatory considerations
- Strengthen the firm's external profile through thought leadership, content development, speaking opportunities, events and digital channels across key markets
- Provide communications counsel on issues management, sensitive matters and crisis situations, anticipating reputational risks and shaping response strategies
- Support portfolio companies, where appropriate, on strategic communications, profile‑raising initiatives and major announcements, in line with the firm's broader communications objectives
- Manage external communications partners and agencies, establishing clear processes, standards and metrics to evaluate effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing from a reputable university
- Proven experience in corporate communications, including experience in a communications agency servicing private equity or broader financial services clients, or in‑house at a private equity firm in a similar capacity
- Proven experience developing corporate communications strategies, key messages and external positioning for financial services, investment management or professional services organisations
- Strong understanding of the media landscape, with experience managing media relations, press releases, media interviews and external communications campaigns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business, investment and market topics into clear, compelling and audience‑appropriate communications; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively and build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working in a regional or global environment, managing multiple workstreams, markets, stakeholders and external partners in a fast‑paced, cross‑border setting
- Strategic, proactive and hands‑on, with strong project management skills and the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- High level of integrity and discretion, with the maturity to handle sensitive information, reputational matters and confidential business developments
