A leading marine management company in Singapore is seeking a Vetting Manager to oversee safety management systems (SMS), conduct audits, and manage incident investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality assurance and a relevant industry credential, with at least two to three years in an HSEQ role. This position involves direct communication with stakeholders and providing briefings to executives, ensuring compliance with company policies and onboard requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Confirm the SMS and assess the effectiveness of procedures.
• Conduct investigations and manage P&I insurance claims.
• Perform internal and external audits as required.
• Provide briefings to top executives.
• Manage onboard familiarization with SMS.
• Review management and safety meetings onboard.
• Carry out company policies in line with SMS.
• Handle ad hoc projects assigned by management.

About the job Vetting Manager (Containers)

Key Responsibilities:

• In charge of confirming the SMS and assessing the procedure's efficacy and quality
• In charge of preventing incidents and conducting investigations, as well as managing and monitoring P&I insurance claims that result from the occurrence
• In charge of all audits, both internal and external
• In charge of providing top executives with briefings
• Incharge of the onboard familiarisation with SMS
• In charge of the onboard management review and safety meeting
• In charge of carrying out policies and procedures in accordance with business SMS
• Ad hoc Projects assigned by the Global Head of Technical or the Deputy General Manager (Marine)
• In charge of communicating CP information and making sure that the terms of the charter are followed on board the vessel as needed.

Requirements:

• In charge of preventing incidents and conducting investigations, including managing P&I insurance issues
• Thorough comprehension of the sector and familiarity with important players
• Relevant industry experience or a comparable industry credential
• Ideally one year of Master's level sailing experience
• Shore Experience for at least two to three years in an HSEQ role
• At least one to two years of shore experience in quality assurance and vetting
• Prior experience as a successful business leader
