Job Description:

  • Answering to the Fleet Manager, Inspecting
  • Prepare the team for internal vetting and train them in accordance with the timeline.
  • Determine what needs to be improved upon and confirm that the corrective and preventive measures are being implemented.
  • Check that ship personnel do the necessary actions in accordance with designated schedules at the appropriate times.
  • Make that the ship is managed and operated safely in line with the company's IMS procedures and all applicable local, national, and international laws, regulations, and mandates.
  • Engage in a variety of safety campaigns actively (by supporting the creation of campaigns as well as implementing o/b).
  • Verify that the vessel conforms with SIRE and CDI regulations. Find any gaps or patterns and report them to the appropriate Fleet Manager, Vetting.
  • Check that the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) onboarding procedures are following the Company's procedures (such as using permits, risk assessments, daily work plans, and toolbox meetings).
  • Compliance-related issues with a strong emphasis on environmental issues, early warning indicators, safety signals, and suggested corrective actions, such as maintenance and repairs to stop their recurrence.
  • Conduct onboarding training to fill in knowledge gaps about safety-related issues.
  • Verify that previously raised observations have been appropriately closed out by analysing reports, such as SIRE / CDI.
  • In order to spot trends and enhance vetting outcomes, proactively contribute to the Fleet Manager Vetting Singapore & Copenhagen.
  • S erve as a point of contact for top management located on land and the vessel.
  • Check that the latest modifications to SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Class, Flag State, Oil Major, and other relevant regulations are being implemented on vessels.
  • During the inspection, record any raised observations and, if feasible, provide images of the observation in your report along with a justification for its raising.
  • Make certain that every crew member has a thorough understanding of the SIRE 2.0 protocol.
  • Analyse, contribute, and confirm the fleet vessel Performance Influencing Factors (PIF).
  • Provide a thorough overview of the inspection procedure to all new hires and help with PIQ preparation. Teach the onboarding personnel the proper methods for submitting precise and correct data.
  • Help the Head of Marine Assurance and the HSE & Compliance Manager with matters pertaining to maritime and safety concerns on ships. Investigate events and accidents on board as directed by the Fleet Manager, Vetting, Head of Marine Assurance, and Technical Director.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering and ideally at least two years of experience sailing as a chief or second engineer.
  • 30 months or more of gas carrier experience is required.
  • D riven by technology, at ease in a digital setting, and logical in the development of processes.
  • The capacity to plan last-minute trips and live a life of constant readiness (apart from vacations).
  • A thorough understanding of the laws and guidelines controlling the management of vessels.
  • D evoted, accountable, and possess exceptional time management abilities in fulfilling deadlines.
  • Autonomous, goal-oriented, structured, and s trong sense of teamwork and the capacity to oversee cross-functional interactions in a fast-moving, dynamic setting.
