The Vessel Operator will join a Singapore-based team of seasoned professionals supporting a tanker fleet that moves chemicals and clean petroleum products across Asia Pacific, the Americas and Europe. The role reports to the Operations Manager and involves a mix of controlled tonnage, COAs and spot fixtures.
You will issue voyage instructions, monitor bunkers, drafts and ETAs, nominate agents, review pro formas and DAs, and track off-hire and demurrage.
Keep the ships moving, the ports honest, and the voyage result where it should be.
Our client is a well-regarded international shipping company in the tanker space, moving chemicals and clean petroleum products across Asia Pacific, the Americas and Europe. Its Singapore office runs a mix of controlled tonnage, COAs and spot fixtures.
They are adding a Vessel Operator to the Pacific operations team. It's a small team that shares knowledge, reporting to the Operations Manager, with the occasional port or vessel visit.
In short, you will run the daily operation of an assigned fleet as efficiently and economically as possible.
You will be a well-versed tanker operator, ideally from chemicals or CPP, with a sound grasp of time charter, COA and voyage charter terms. You know how ships, ports and terminals work, you understand tank cleaning and cargo handling, and you can negotiate firmly without falling out with anyone. IMOS experience is a plus. Sailing experience would also help, but it isn't required. The trade runs around the clock, so you will need to be comfortable taking a call outside office hours.
In return, you join a respected name with strong backing, a steady fleet and a team that invests in its people. A competitive package is on offer for the right person.
