Job summary

National University of Singapore seeks a Venture Architect to transform breakthrough research into high-impact startups within the GRIP program. You will mentor diverse startup teams, scout university technologies, and build strategic partnerships across the ecosystem to accelerate market-ready ventures.

You will guide founders, influence research directions with market insights, and work closely with NUS Enterprise to scale venture creation.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in science and engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in science-based technology business with leadership or VC experience.
• Startup founder experience preferred.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor or AI industries; devices or climate tech helpful.
• Strong communication and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Incubate innovation by mentoring startup teams from concept to launch and validating business models.
• Shape the startup pipeline by scouting technologies and entrepreneurs from universities and forging ecosystem partnerships.

Your Purpose & Impact

• Incubate Innovation: Mentor startup teams from concept to launch, helping them build validated business models and navigate real-world challenges.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD degree in science & engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in science-based technology business, including roles in company management, venture capital, or startup founder.
• First-hand experience in startup environments is a must. Founder experience a big plus.
• A deep understanding of the semiconductor or artificial intelligence industries is essential. Experience in medical devices or climate technology is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the latest technologies, trends, and market dynamics is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, with a willingness to take calculated risks.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changes and challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
