Duke-NUS Medical School, within the Asia Pathogen Genomics Initiative, seeks a Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow to lead digital health UX, user research, and evaluation across partner sites in ASEAN. Qualifications

• Combined medical and public health qualification or PhD in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years post-degree experience in digital health implementation with user research and evaluation.
• Strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Track record of applied research outputs and effective technical delivery.
• Experience with genomics, infectious disease surveillance, AI-enabled tools is a plus.
• Experience in ASEAN partner countries is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop formative readiness assessments with country partners, including stakeholder interviews and workflow mapping.
• Design and conduct user research during platform testing (usability testing, interviews, walkthroughs) with end-users.
• Administer and analyse structured feedback instruments and synthesise actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate findings into platform refinements from specification to prototyping.
• Contribute to iterative development or configuration of platform components based on user research.
• Support human-AI evaluation activities and coordination of expert reviews.
• Maintain well-documented records of findings, decisions and platform changes for reporting.
• Engage country partners, prepare materials, and build trusted relationships with partner staff.
• Contribute to technical reports, manuscripts, and dissemination outputs.
